Preview your link in Google and on social media

The same link looks different everywhere: Google truncates by pixel width, Viber gives up after sixty characters, LinkedIn doesn't show a description at all, and iMessage keeps only the image and title. Here you can see how it appears in ten places — and get ready-made code for the <head> section.

  • 10 places at once
  • Ready-made og: tags
  • Runs in your browser

The recommended size is 1200×630 px.

Shown in Discord, Slack and Telegram.

How to use the tool

  1. Fill in the text

URL, title, description and image. The bars under the fields measure in pixels by Google's yardstick — the character count there is approximate; the width is the real limit.

  2. Go through the platforms

The buttons at the top switch between Google, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp and iMessage. Under each card you'll see exactly what that platform does with your text.

  3. Get the tags

At the bottom is the ready-made code — title, description, og: and twitter: tags. Copy it and paste it into the <head> section of the page.

Frequently asked questions

Because Google truncates by width. A title of 55 capital letters takes up far more space than 55 lowercase ones and gets cut off sooner — the character count is an approximation; the width is the real measure.

1200×630 px is the size that works everywhere. Below 600×315, Facebook shrinks the card to a small thumbnail on the side, and WhatsApp rejects files over 300 KB and shows only the text.

Each platform truncates by its own rules and shows different parts. LinkedIn skips the description, iMessage shows only the image and title, Discord shows the most text. That's why the important part goes at the start of the title — it survives everywhere.

Platforms cache the preview. Facebook and LinkedIn refresh through their developer tools (Sharing Debugger and Post Inspector), Telegram through @WebpageBot. Otherwise, the old card keeps showing for days.

Not directly. But it decides whether someone clicks, and the click-through rate shows up in Search Console and is reflected in your traffic.

The search engine often rewrites the title if it decides something else better matches the query — it usually takes text from the page itself, most often from the H1. Your title remains the starting point, not a guarantee.
